Plomme Alexy ble oppdrettet på 2000 -tallet av oppdretter V.S. Simonov i Moskva ved All-Russian Institute of Selection and Technology of Horticulture and Nursery, i et av de ledende forskningsinstituttene i Russland innen hagebruk. Sorten var basert på frøene til plommesorten "Zanyatnaya" fra fri pollinering.
